This indenture made the 4th February 1848 between Joshua B. Cochran the one part and Margaret McAnally the other part. Witnesseth both of the County State aforesaid that for and in Consideration of the Sum of five hundred dollars the said Margaret McAnally in hand paid by the said Joshua B. Cochran before the sealing and delivery, by these presents the Receipt Whereof she doth hereby acknowledge and therefore doth release acquit and discharge the said Joshua B Cochrans executors and administrators, by these presents she the said Margaret McAnally granted bargained sold aliened and Confirmed and by these presents doth grant bargain sell alien and confirm unto the said Joshua B. Cochran and his heirs all her dower right and title to a certain Tract of land lying and being in the County of Angelina County of State of Texas. Known and designated as John McAnnally’s headwright.
In manner and form aforesaid and that by said premises now are and forever
hereafter shall remain free and clear of all as dower from the said Margaret
McAnally and her heirs and assigns to the said Josh B Cochran and his heirs
and assigns forever whereof the said Margaret McAnally hath hereunto set
her hand and seal the day and date above written.

Hanks whom I am acquainted and after being duly sworn stated that he saw the signer sign and seal and deliver the .… bond for the Consideration therein contained and specified Witness my hand and private seal having no county seal.
