The State of Texas

County of Angelina

Know all men by these presents that we J. B. Cochran and Lavonia Cochran, husband and wife of the county and state aforesaid have this day for the consideration of love and affection we bear for our children Martin F. Cochran and Clarince B. Cochran have given granted and conveyed and by these presents do Give Grant and convey unto the said Martin F. and Clarince B. Cochran of the county of Angelina said state of Texas, all the right title interest and claim that we have in and to the following described lot or parcel of land to-wit:

100 acres of land lying and situate in Angelina County Texas out of the Patrick Mullen League of land, the said 100 acres of land herein conveyed being in the most north West corner of the said Patrick Mullen league of land Bounded on the North West by the N.W. Boundary line of said league and on the N. East by the N.E. boundary line of said league of the same being in or near a square shape.

The said Martin F. Cochran to have the most North one half of said 100 acres and the said Clairance B. Cochran to have the most South one half of said 100 acres hereby conveyed Giving and hereby Granting to each 50 acres of land as above described.

To have and to hold the same unto them the said Martin F. and Clairance B. Cochran their heirs and assigns forever and we do hereby bind ourselves, our heirs, and legal representatives to warrant and forever defend all and singular, the said land and premises unto the said Martin F. and Clairance B. Cochran their heirs and assigns forever against the claim or claims of any and all persons whomsoever claiming or to claim the same or any part thereof either in law or equity.

The State of Texas

County of Angelina

Know all men by these presents:

That we Joshua S. Cochran and John M. Cochran and Laura Cochran wife of Joshua S. Cochran of the County of Angelina in the State aforesaid for and in consideration of the sum of Five Hundred Dollars, to us paid by Parilee Maroney, wife of J. T. Maroney with her own separate money and the further consideration that she the said Parilee Maroney is to pay off and satisfy in full all outstanding claims or indebtedness against the Estate of our father and mother E. K. and M. F. Cochran deceased save and except one claim of one hundred and two & 50/100 Dollars with interest known as the Hatfield note which I, John M. Cochran, am to receipt the Adm of said Est. W. J. Townsend for - have Granted Sold and Conveyed, and by these presents do Grant, Sell and Convey, unto the said Parilee Maroney of the County of Angelina State of Texas, all that certain tracts of land situated in Angelina County, Texas that we may be entitled to by inheritance or purchase said land being:

- an undivided one half interest in the Giles Cottingham 156 acres

– an undivided one half interest in 100 acres more or less of the Archer Browning 216 acre survey

– 40 acres more or less the same being an undivided interest in the John McAnally 640 acres survey

– an undivided one half interest in Lots 7 & 8 in Block 13 in the Town of Homer Texas. Also an undivided one half interest in 25 acres more or less of the Thomas Hanks survey of land situated on Stanley Creek.

One half of the land herein conveyed being inherited by us from our father and mother and our grandfather J. B. Cochran deceased and the other having been purchased by us from Clara Shofner joined by her husband Lewis Shofner and from Fannie Granberry – For description of land herein conveyed see:

– The 25 acres more or less of the Thos Hanks Survey of land herein conveyed being bounded as follows, to-wit:

Beginning 600 vrs N 45 E & 238 vrs S. 45 E from the west corner or S.W. corner of said Thos. Hanks survey at a stake from which a hickory 9 in dia brs N. 42 W 5 vrs dist a red oak 10 in dia brs N 57 E 14 vrs dist a sweetgum 14 in dia brs N 31 E 11 vrs dist. Thence N 45 W to the North west boundary line of said Hanks survey a stake two beeches and an ash for witness trees. Thence N. 45 E a stake in said North west boundary line of said Thos Hanks Sur. 780 vrs. Thence S 63 E to the North West boundary line of a tract of land sold to John Thompson by A. B. Cochran on the North west boundary line of the tract of land now owned by W. B. Woods. Thence South 45 W to the place of beginning containing 25 acres of land more or less and including the land and improvements where saw mill, gin &c is now located & owned by J. T. Maroney.

To have and to hold the above described premises, together with all and singular, the rights and appurtenances thereto in anywise belonging unto the said Parilee Maroney her heirs and assigns forever; and we do hereby bind ourselves heirs, executors and administrators to warrant and forever defend all and singular, the said premises unto the said Parilee Maroney her heirs and assigns, against every person whomsoever lawfully claiming or to claim the same or any part thereof.
